COMPLETE PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

The gradual onset of health problems in an apparently healthy pet often goes unnoticed.  Once symptoms appear, the condition may be more difficult or costly to diagnose and treat.  Although age itself is not a disease, it can bring many conditions that if diagnosed early can be completely reversed or controlled for extended periods of time.

At least once a year, your pet should have a complete physical examination.   Remember, your pet's lifespan is shorter than a person's.  Much can happen in 12 months.

VACCINATION AGAINST PREVENTABLE DISEASES

Due to the many recent discoveries and innovations in veterinary medicine, your pet can be protected from most major diseases.  Today, many immunizations and preventive treatments are available that did not exist just a few years ago.  The law requires all dogs to be vaccinated for Rabies.  Other diseases that your dog can be vaccinated for include but are not limited to Distemper, Parvovirus, Adenovirus Type 2, Coronavirus, Parainfluenza, Leptospira, Bordetella, Lymes, and Giardia.  The staff at Deckerville Veterinary Clinic and Sandusky Animal Clinic can help you decide what preventive measures are necessary for your pet(s).
