Our pets are some of the best companions that we have. They provide us with comfort when we are down, match our joy when we are excited, and stay by our side as long as we let them.
The overall health of your pet is our number one priority at Deckerville Veterinary Clinic, and Sandusky Animal Clinic. We are here for you and your pet, whether in good health or bad. Check out the other areas of our web site for further information on the most basic of pet health care to the most complex. Use the links to access information from organizations that we find to parallel our levels of client information on common health and behavior problems.
APPOINTMENTS - Deckerville Veterinary Clinic has small animal appointments on Tuesday and Friday. Appointments at our Sandusky Animal Clinic are Monday thru Saturday. Monday and Wednesday are surgeries days. Walkin clients are welcome, however appointments are much preferred. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority followed by patients with scheduled appointments, and lastly walk-ins.
ARRIVAL POLICY - For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash. On rare occasions we may ask that you wait in your car while we complete an appointment with a difficult patient ahead of you. Please understand that this is for the protection of you and your pet. If you have been asked to bring a lab sample with you please present this at the time of check in. This allows the lab technician to begin doing any appropriate laboratory work necessary in advance.
And lastly, do not hesitate to contact us after hours in the event of an emergency.
What's New...
5/7/09 Watch for us at the annual Mutt Strut in Sandusky on the 16th. We will have a booth and the doctors will be doing heartworm tests and providing free nail trims. Contact the clinic for more information. (810) 648-8230

4/16/09 We will be closing the Sandusky clinic at 2:00 on Saturdays from now on.

We are now carring Comfortis, manufactured by Lilly, a pill for flea control. Although the flea does have to bite for the product to be effective, Comfortis is an excellent alternative for those who do not like the oily topicals or for those whose dogs have sensative skin.

As we gear up for heartworm season a reminder that we have changed the heartworm test policy from previous years. If your dog is on heartworm preventative year around we are requiring a heartworm test every other year. If your dog is only on heartworm preventative for a portion of the year you will be required to have your dog tested each spring. We have made these changes because the manufactures of the heartworm preventative products do not stand behind their product unless we do.
