A little history....  
Dr. Bob Muir came to Deckerville in 1953 to practice veterinary medicine as a sole practitioner. In 1957 when Dr. James Turbok joined him in practice Deckerville Veterinary Clinic was official formed. Over the fifty plus years of history twenty-five veterinarians have served this community and surrounding area. Several moved on to establish their own practice or to join others, some have retired and others are still actively working. In 1998 Sandusky Animal Clinic was opened expanding the business to two locations. Presently the practice serves the counties of Sanilac, Huron, Tuscola and the northern section of St. Clair. Deckerville Veterinary Clinic strives to maintain the goal of prompt service, high quality medicine, surgeries and consulting. In 2004 the Deckerville Clinic went under a major transformation on the exterior as well as the interior bringing a new look to the clinic, as well as modern functionality.
   
 Dr. Duane Schroeder came to Deckerville fresh from Michigan State University with his degree in veterinary medicine in 1962. He has been with Deckerville Veterinary Clinic ever since. Originally from Rochester Michigan, Dr. Schroeder has raised six children in the area. Dough Schroeder and Robert Schroeder, both of Orlando Fl; Rich Schroeder, Saginaw, MI; Brandon Schroeder of Haslet, MI; Holly Schroeder of Warren, MI; and Wren Schroeder of Marlette, MI. Duane and his wife LuAnn reside in Deckerville. Dr. Schroeder remains active as a primarily food animal veterinarian. Duane enjoys raising and showing cattle and being involved with the 4-H.

 

   
 Dr. Gary Collings graduated with his degree in veterinary medicine in 1977 from Michigan State University. He worked at the Deckerville clinic from June of 1977 through October of 1979. Dr. Collings worked at the Bad Axe Clinic then returned to the Deckerville Veterinary Clinic in February of 1981. Dr. Collings and his wife Elaine raised one son in Deckerville. Casey Collings, currently of Howell, MI. Gary enjoys hunting, videotaping for the local football team, and gardening. He is also an active member of the Knight of Columbus.

 

   
Originally from Perry, Michigan Dr. Tom Michalek came to Deckerville right out of veterinary school at Michigan State University in 1981. He and his wife Lucinda are raising four children, Nick, Matt, Sarah and Elizabeth. They reside in the area. Dr. Michalek enjoys his work with dairy management. In his spare time Tom likes to golf, watch his children play sports and participate in 4-H. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

 

   
 
Dr. Mark Fox graduated from Michigan State University in 1984. Originally from Fremont Michigan he joined the Deckerville Veterinary Clinic right after college. He and his wife Jane have three children; Katie Chambers, Gaylord Michigan; Anna Fox, Stevensville Montana and their son Paul Fox remains at home in the Deckerville area. Mark’s interest in the practice includes dairy production, medicine and nutrition. He enjoys anything outdoors including fishing, hunting and camping.

 

   
 Originally from Harbor Beach, Dr. Leon Roggenbuck joined the Deckerville Veterinary Clinic in 1992 after graduating from Michigan State University. He and his wife Amy are raising two children, Ethan and Emma. They reside in the area. Leon works primarily with dairy management. He enjoys being outdoors hunting. Leon is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sanilac County Right to Life Chapter

 

   
 Dr. Jarrett Gordon joined the practice in Deckerville in 1996 after graduating from Michigan State University. He is originally from Caro, MI. He and his wife Bethany live in the area with their two children Sam and Cassie. Jarrett’s interests fall in dairy management & surgery. He enjoys being outdoors hunting, carpentry and yard work.

 

   
Dr. Chad Vogel joined the clinic as an associate in 2007 following graduation from Michigan State University. Originally from Deckerville, Chad and his wife Leslie are residing in the area. He will be assisting in all aspects of the practice; small companion animal, equine, beef and dairy.

 

   

 

Dr. Chuck Roberts joined the practice in 2007.  Originally from Deckerville, Chuck graduated from Michigan State University in 1999.  He practiced Veterinary Medicine in Twin Bridges Montana before returning to Deckerville.  Dr. Chuck’s background includes working with bovine, equine and companion animal.  He and his wife, Dr. Ann Roberts reside in the Deckerville area with their two daughters, Alexa and Emma.

 

 

 
   
 Dr. Ann Roberts, small animal veterinarian, joined the practice in 2007.  Originally from Waterford, Michigan, Ann graduated from Michigan State University in 1999.  She and her husband Chuck practiced Veterinary Medicine in Twin Bridges Montana before coming to Deckerville.  Dr. Ann enjoyes internal medice, and surgeries.  Ann and Chuck reside in the Deckerville area with their two daughters, Alexa and Emma.  In her spare time she enjoys her horses, donkey, chickens, dogs, cats, and of course the kids!  
   
 Lisa Beatty, LVT is the newest member of our professional team.  Joining our staff in October of 2007, Lisa is a 2000 graduate of Macomb County Community College with a Licensed Veterinary Technician degree.  Lisa's previous employment history includes both large and small animal practices.  She and her husband Chris reside in the Snover area with their two children Marshall and Sydney.
